![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king (from The Fellowship of the Ring, "Strider") The poem first shows up in a letter Gandalf writes to Frodo regarding Strider (aka Aragorn). ![]() It says "Law pain i reviar mistar aen" which is Sindarin (the language of the Grey Elves that Tolkien created) for "Not all those who wander are lost." It's one of my favorite sayings from one of my favorite poems: "The Riddle of Strider" All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. This is of course, the province of photographers who deal with perceptions and the lies. In this well known prophesy from Lord of the Rings, Tolkien alludes to common perceptions and how they can be misleading.
